What this site collects
PhotoCraft Wiki is a static website. It has no accounts, comments or submission forms. Shortcut searches, package selections and selected files are processed in your browser. It does not run advertising, and it does not load fonts or images from third-party servers: all images are served from this site itself. It uses two services to measure traffic, Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics, described next, and it is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare.
Download checker and browser editor
The SHA256 checker reads a file you select to compute its hash in your browser. It does not upload the file, its name or its hash. Automatic download recommendations read the operating system information already exposed by your browser; this tool does not store it. When you choose “Check latest release”, your browser requests public release metadata from api.github.com. GitHub receives your IP address and the request’s technical information. This request sends no selected files or file hashes.
Starting the browser editor loads the pinned PhotoCraft WebAssembly build from this site. Image editing and export run on your device; this integration does not upload your documents. PhotoCraft stores preferences in localStorage under photocraft.preferencesand imported or custom brush presets in the IndexedDB database photocraft.presets. These persist until you remove them or clear this site’s browser data. The web build has no document autosave or crash recovery, so save or export your work before closing it. See the project’s browser implementation,preset storage implementationand the release’s hosting notes.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service from Google, to learn how many people visit, which pages they read and how they found the site, so we can see which guides are useful and which need fixing. When a page loads, your browser fetches a script fromgoogletagmanager.com, a Google server, and sends measurement data to Google.
The data sent includes:
- the page you viewed and how you got there (the page address, its title and the referring site);
- your browser and device type, operating system, screen size and language;
- your approximate location, derived from your IP address;
- how you interact with the page, such as scrolling, outbound link clicks and time spent;
- a randomly generated identifier stored in a cookie, which lets Google tell returning visitors from new ones.
Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses (Google’s explanation). We do not ask for your name or email address through the site, and we do not try to identify individual visitors. We read only aggregate reports.
We use Google Analytics for measurement only. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell the data, and we do not combine it with other data about you. Google acts as our service provider, may process the data in the United States and other countries, and handles it under its own terms and policy (how Google uses information from sites that use its services). Google keeps event-level data for a limited period that the site owner sets, never longer than 14 months for a standard property (Google’s data retention page).
Cloudflare Web Analytics
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which also provides Cloudflare Web Analytics. When a page loads, a small script fromstatic.cloudflareinsights.com reads how long the page took to load from your browser’s Performance API, including the Core Web Vitals speed measures, and sends those timings to this site’s own address under /cdn-cgi/rum, where Cloudflare receives them (how Cloudflare collects the data).
Cloudflare says this service collects the minimum information needed, which it describes as timing metrics, that it does not collect or use visitors’ personal data, that it does not track individual end users across its customers’ sites (about Web Analytics, data origin and collection), and that it does not log query strings (FAQ). We use it only to see how fast pages load and how many people visit, as a second check next to Google Analytics. Cloudflare does not state how long it keeps this data in the pages we read; see its own policy.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies on this site. Both stay for up to two years unless you delete them first.
_gaholds the random identifier that distinguishes one browser from another._ga_followed by our property ID holds the state of your current session.
Google lists these cookies in its cookie reference. This site’s own server sets no cookies, and Cloudflare’s Web Analytics documentation does not describe any. When we checked on 2026-10-10, the only cookies visible in the browser were these two.
How to opt out
You can stop the measurement at any time, and the site works the same without it:
- install Google’s Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, which stops Google Analytics from collecting data on any site;
- block cookies, or block the
googletagmanager.com,google-analytics.comandstatic.cloudflareinsights.comdomains, with your browser settings or a content blocker; - delete the
_gacookies from your browser to start with a fresh identifier.
Server logs
The site is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare (Cloudflare Pages, DNS and its network). Like most web servers, Cloudflare may record technical information about each request, such as your IP address, the time, the page requested and your browser type, for operating and securing the service, under Cloudflare’s privacy policy. We do not use these logs to identify visitors.
Links to other sites
Pages link to GitHub, the ArtCraft website, Discord, Adobe, Microsoft and other sites. When you follow a link you leave this site, and that site’s own privacy policy applies. We do not control them.
If you email us
If you write to [email protected], we use your message and address only to reply and, if you report an error, to correct it. We do not share them. You can also write to ask a question about this policy. Because analytics data is tied to a random identifier, not to your name, we usually cannot tell which records are yours, but we will help where we can.
Changes
If the site adds advertising or any other tool that processes visitor data beyond what is described here, this page will be updated first, and the date above will change.
